Austin Peay RB CJ Evans scores 75-yard touchdown on first play of 2020 college football season

Austin Peay needed just one play to score the first touchdown of the 2020 college football season, as RB CJ Evans rushed 75 yards for a score.

It didn’t take Austin Peay long to score the first touchdown of the college football season. Exactly one play and 16 seconds, to be precise.

Evans scored on a 75-yard touchdown run to give the Governors a 7-0 lead over Central Arkansas in the FCS Kickoff on Saturday night in Montgomery, Alabama – the first Division I college football game of the season to be staged while the coronavirus pandemic rages on across the United States. 

Evans took the pitch from quarterback Jeremiah Oatsvall on the first play from scrimmage following a touchback and ran untouched to the end zone. 

In true college football fashion, Austin Peay’s next possession ended with a botched punt attempt that resulted in a loss of 12 yards.
