CM – A late comeback brings Brentford 2-1 home win over Watford

BRENTFORD, England: Late goals from Pontus Jansson and Bryan Mbuemo gave Brentford a 2-1 home win over Watford in the Premier League when they won on Friday (Dec 10).

The result lifted Brentford at 20 Points from 16 games in ninth place, while Watford remained in 17th place with 13 points, three points above the relegation zone.

Visiting goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann overturned a shot by Shandon Baptiste in the fourth minute and then held a Mbuemo -Shot before Watford came to life in the middle of the first half.

Joshua King hit the post for the visitors in the 24th minute, and Dennis gave them the lead less than 60 seconds later and headed a Tom Cleverley corner in the lead.

Brentford pressed after the break and Bachmann parried another nice save in the 74th minute to fend off a stabbing shot by Christian Noergaard before King smothered a shot by caretaker Alvaro Fernandez at the other end.

But the home side equalized in the 84th minute when Jansson headed the ball from close range before Mbeumo turned the game into stoppage time with a penalty after William Troost-Ekong fouled substitute Saman Ghoddos.
