SOUTHAMPTON: New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson said it was a nice feeling to finally get a good workout outdoors after spending a lot of time indoors.
New Zealand is going off lock the horns on June 2nd in a test series with two games against England. After this series, the BlackCaps will lock the horns against India in the World Test Championship (WTC) finals.
« The guys are pretty excited to see the sun outside so it was nice to get out and head for some lawns rise after being in a few days trying to make some adjustments that you try when you turn up a new country, « stuff.co.nz quoted Williamson.

This warm-up game will start later today and in this case Tom Latham XI will fight Kane Williamson XI at his base in the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
« Warm-up games are important to acclimatize the guys to leg time and stress the bowlers. It’ll be nice to add a little game intensity to push those steps forward to the first test match. » It’s nice to have this preparation and practice and hopefully the guys get what they need, « said Williamson.
Previously, New Zealand’s pre-Test practice had been hampered by rain in Southampton, with two games against England against England, but head coach Gary Stead said his team was on the right track with some good training at home.
Since arriving in Southampton, the Kiwis have not been able to train properly outdoors due to the wettest May-s in England, The Met Office reported that Britain was on May 10th wettest on record in 1862.
« I think if you come to an English summer you still expect to come outside occasionally. It was a bit frustrating because you come over and the guys just want to get a feel for the different conditions here, « quoted stuff.co.nz Stay as I said.
