Adele has spoken openly about her weight loss and the public’s reaction to her changed appearance, with the singer revealing that she was « very disappointed » with the conversations that had been going on about her body.

Singer Someone Like You, who appeared on the November 2021 Vogue covers for her first interview in five years, has been a topic of conversation since she shared a photo of herself in a black dress on her 32nd birthday has.

According to the 33-year-old, her 100 pounds weight loss was the result of exercising three times a day, with the British singer explaining that her motivation was not to lose weight, but to manage her anxiety.

“It was because of my fear. I would just feel better if I exercised. It was never about losing weight, it was always about getting strong and giving me so much time off my phone every day, « she told Vogue, adding that she was » totally addicted to it.  » The songwriter then admitted that many people were “shocked” that she didn’t document her “journey” on social media as the public got used to individuals sharing “everything on Instagram”.

However, according to Adele, she “couldn’t give flying f ** k,” with the singer noting that there was no reason to share her weight loss because “did it for me and not for others”. .

« So why should I ever share it? » I don’t find it fascinating. It’s my body, « she added.

While Adele didn’t raise awareness of her weight loss, she did notice the public did, and the singer called up the » brutal « conversations in her interview with US Vogue that took place over her performance.

The objectification of her body was not a new phenomenon, according to Adele, as her body was « objectified » throughout her career. What excited her, however, were the conversations other women had about her body.

“My body has been objectified throughout my career. It’s not just now. I understand why it’s a shock. I understand why some women in particular were injured. I represented a lot of women visually. But I’m still the same person, ”she said. “Other women had the most brutal conversations about my body. I was very disappointed about that. It hurt my feelings. ”Elsewhere in her interview, the singer addressed the“ disgusting ”rumors about diets and workouts she allegedly followed and stated that most of the reports were false.

« You know that one hundred percent of the stories that have been written about me were absolutely wrong, » she said, adding that she was not « dieting » and, if anything, is eating more than before.

Adele, whose divorce from her ex-husband Simon Konecki was finalized earlier that year, also spoke openly of the suggestions that her weight loss stemmed from a desire to receive a « revenge body, » a claim she firmly denied.

» This whole thing like, ‘Gets Revenge Body’ … Oh my god. Suck my d ***! « She said.

Adele also revealed that her new album is still untitled to explain her nine-year-old son about their divorce.

» My son had a lot of questions, « she said Vogue. « Really good questions, really innocent questions that I just don’t have the answer to. »

The Hello singer adds that the record should help him understand her feelings when he’s older:

“I just had the feeling that with this record I wanted to explain to him who I am and why I have voluntarily decided to destroy his whole life in search of my own happiness. That made him really unhappy at times. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I can ever heal, « she says.

Adele highlights a certain song on the album that is meant for her son Angelo: » This is obviously about things that happened, but I wanted to put it on the album to show Angelo how I expect him to treat his partner, whether it be a woman or a man or whatever. «

She also says her divorce was more a result of drifting apart than falling apart: “It just wasn’t right for me anymore. I didn’t want to end up like many other people I knew. It wasn’t miserable, but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first. But yeah, nothing bad happened or anything like that. «

The singer who made the best-selling albums of the 21st breakup. »

Adele released a teaser for her first song in six years on Tuesday. The trailer reveals that Easy On Me should be out on October 15th.
