CM – AFL Eagle Jones charged with drink driving

West Coast AFL striker Jamaine Jones will be tried Friday for driving with blood alcohol levels greater than 0.08.

The Eagles released a statement Thursday night exposing the news , in which they said Jones informed the club at the time of the offense.

« The club is bitterly disappointed with Jones’ actions and will review the incident after the hearing with the likelihood of a separate sanction, » West Coast said in an explanation.

« There is no excuse for getting behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol, and Jones is extremely sorry for these serious misconduct. »

The 23-year-old has been on the West Coast list for the past two seasons and scored 15 games for the Eagles in 2021.

His best game was the seventh round win against Fremantle, when he scored two goals from 21 departures.
