CM – After Prime Minister got stuck at Flyover, BJP says Chief Minister Channi ignored SOS

PM Modi canceled its events in Punjab today after being stuck on an overpass for around 20 minutes because of protesters.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi canceled his events in Punjab today after he was stuck on an overpass for around 20 minutes because of protesters.

Pictures showed the convoy of Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel stranded on the overpass the prime minister’s car is fenced off.

PM Modi returned to Bathinda Airport for the violation, the Home Office said in a statement accusing the congressional government.

« The prime minister sat up for 15 to 20 minutes an overpass. This was a big mistake in the prime minister’s security, « said the Home Office.

The ruling BJP referred to this as reported « the biggest vulnerability to an Indian Prime Minister in recent years » and accused Congress of attempting to harm the Prime Minister. However, Congress questioned how the prime minister’s security enabled the short-term route change.

The prime minister landed in Bathinda today to visit a National Martyrs Memorial in Hussainiwala. It was supposed to be flown by helicopter, but due to rain and poor visibility, it waited about 20 minutes for the weather to improve. When this was not the case, he decided to drive to the place two hours away.

« He continued to travel by road after the necessary security was confirmed by the police DGP Punjab » said the Home Office.

About 30 km from the memorial, when the prime minister’s convoy reached an overpass, the street was blocked by protesters.

« The prime minister’s schedule and itinerary were given to the government of Punjab communicated well in advance. According to the procedure, they must take the necessary logistics and safety precautions and have an emergency plan ready. Also with regard to the contingency plan, the Punjab government has to use extra security to secure any movement on the street that was clearly not used. After this security breach, it was decided to return to Bathinda Airport, « said the Home Office.

The Home Office has requested a detailed report from the Punjab government which, on the other hand, says the Prime Minister has returned for another reason.

» There were no shortcomings in security during the Prime Minister’s visit to Punjab today. The security breach allegations are unfounded. The truth is, the BJP rally was a flop. When the Prime Minister found out about it, he decided to return.  » said Punjab Minister Rajkumar Verka.

This after BJP chief JP Nadda attacked the Punjab Prime Minister, Charanjit Singh Channi, in a series of tweets and accused him of not taking calls.

« It is sad that the Prime Minister’s visit to launch thousands of crores worth of development projects for Punjab has been suspended … The state police were instructed to prevent people from attending the rally … CM Channi refused to call to raise or resolve the matter, « tweeted Mr. Nadda.

The chairman of the Congress, Randeep Singh Surjewala, said the BJP boss should « stop the cool and lose all decency « .

» 10,000 security guards were deployed for the prime minister’s rally. All arrangements were made with SPG and other agencies. A route was even worked out for all buses by BJP employees from Haryana, Rajasthan. PM decided to take a road trip to Hussainiwala was not part of his original schedule of road travel, « said Surjewala as he listed the reasons for the protests that blocked the prime minister.
