CM – Angel’s game was postponed on Saturday due to the Twins COVID-19 situation

The twins had a positive COVID-19 test within their tour group on Friday night, so the game was postponed on Saturday to allow further contact follow-up

ANAHEIM – The Angels game against the Minnesota Twins planned for Saturday evening has been postponed as the COVID-19 problems within the Twins’ travel group persist.

Twin manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters after Friday’s game that there was a positive test on the club’s travel group. Kyle Garlick, who played left field on Friday, reportedly tested positive on Saturday.

Earlier this week, Twins shortstop Andrelton Simmons tested positive, but the Twins are reportedly not concerned that the current tests are related to Simmons, who has not been on the team since Tuesday.

There was no immediate word as to whether the twins had any more positive tests on Saturday. The announcement only said that the game had been postponed « to allow for continued testing and contact tracing involving members of the Twins organization ».

This is the first time the Angels have had a game affected by COVID-19, including last season.
