CM – Ansu Fati starred in the first start in almost a year when Barca beat Valencia




BARCELONA: Ansu Fati marked his first start in almost a year by scoring one goal and another when Barcelona beat Valencia 3-1 in La Liga at Camp Nou on Sunday.

Though Barcas Seat was filled for the first time since March 2020, it was only half full – and those in attendance were silenced after five minutes when Jose Gaya’s long-range shot deflected into the back corner.

Barca reacted well and Fati leveled after 13 Minutes with a wonderful curling from the edge of the box.

The youngster was then beaten by Gaya in the box four minutes before the break and Memphis Depay went from the point to the net.

Carlos Soller hit the woodwork after the break, when Valencia pressed for equalization, but the home side secured all three points when substitute Philippe Coutinho shot from close range five minutes from time.

The win brought Ronald Koeman’s side to seventh Ta with 15 points barking place, five behind leaders Real Sociedad, who had played one game less.
