CM – Area in the Victoria region should finally end the lockdown after three weeks

The snap lockdown was originally supposed to take seven days, but it took much longer.

An area in the Victoria area is finally about to end its lockdown after an outbreak forced it to stay at home for nearly a month.

The Mitchell Shire was opened on September 19th along with Surf Coast Shire and the city of Greater Geelong suspended after seven COVID-19 cases were recorded in the area.

But while Surf Coast and Geelong lifted the lockdown a week later, orders for Mitchell Shire continued. </ "Mitchell Shire's vaccination rates have really increased in the past few weeks and this is an amazing achievement from this community," he said.

« The public health team is confident that the outbreak is now understood and well managed . « 

Beginning Wednesday 11:59 pm, Mitchell Shire restrictions will be in line with regional Victorian parishes no longer on lockdown.
