Ostracized Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is looking to return to Serie A with both Lazio and Fiorentina interested in him.
As the Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported last night, Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt have made a formal offer to Arsenal for the 25-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, but the player is not interested and prefers to return to Italy instead.
Torreira spent the first four years of his professional career in Italy, playing for both Pescara and Sampdoria before joining the Gunners in 2018. The player has not been able to fully settle with Arsenal and is not part of manager Mikel Arteta’s project in north London.
Lazio and Fiorentina are both keen to take over the Uruguayan. Both teams want to strengthen their midfield later this month when the summer transfer window ends.
Torreira spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid from Diego Simeone but failed to impress in La Liga as he only made three league starts and played 502 minutes in total.
