Ashleigh Barty, the number 1 in the world, won her third WTA title this year by defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the Stuttgart clay court tournament on Sunday.
After the victory in Miami and a pre- Australian Open hard court event in Melbourne, Barty added the Stuttgart title, her first clay tournament this season, as the 2019 French Open winner prepares for Roland Garros next month.
One day after her 25th birthday the Australian recovered from losing the first set and won a 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 win over Sabalenka, who needed a medical break after the second set due to an adductor injury.
