AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) – An Augusta County man is accused of abducting his child at gunpoint from his mother and the search continues.
On Tuesday evening, the sheriff’s office reported Augusta County that Jaxson Moran, 13, was kidnapped by his father Steven Moran earlier that day in the Greenville area.
According to investigators, the two were found in a maroon 2014 Nissan Titan 4-door pickup truck -Truck with the VA registration « VHZ-4343 » drove away. They were last seen north on Almo Chapel Road. in Greenville.
Jaxon is described as a white man, six feet tall, 115 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes. Jaxson was last seen wearing a light green and gray Ariat baseball cap, dark blue Under Armor hoodie, blue jeans, and Ariat work boots.
« This is an isolated incident domestically. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public in finding Steven and Jaxson Moran. Do not approach Moran or try to follow him, « Sheriff Donald L. Smith said in a press release Tuesday evening.
Smith said his office had received several charges against the elderly Moran, including violent abduction, use a firearm while committing a crime and violating a protective order armed with a weapon.
