Sydney: The lack of match practice ahead of the upcoming multi-format home series against « rising super giants » India will make the Australian women’s team « vulnerable » according to head coach Matthew Mott.
The two teams will be open from September 19 to October 11 play a full series in Australia that includes three ODIs, as many T20Is and a one-time test.
« (India) is an up and coming super giant in the game, they have a lot of great players and they will be tough opponents, » became Mott quoted by cricket.com.au on Friday after signing a two-year extension that will see him stay with the team until after the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

« You are playing in England right now and if anything we will be a bit vulnerable because we haven’t had a lot of cricket. That’s our priority, » he added.
Five of India’s best players, including Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, will also appear in The Hundred’s inaugural season. On the flip side, the home series against India is Australia’s first game since touring New Zealand in April .
Nine of the 10 players signed by CA have also withdrawn from The Hundred. Mott, who was supposed to coach Welsh Fire, has also retired from the tournament.
“It would be great to bring everyone face to face again, to have a really strong camp in Brisbane at the National Cricket Center with fantastic new facilities out there too and only to train well for some of the (players from) southern states outside weather.
« So fingers open over the borders and we are as free of COVID as possible and we are navigating around, » added Mott.

Morgan and his deputy, Jos Buttler, have been accused of poking fun at the way Indians addressed them in English after recent Twitter posts from a few years ago came back to light.
The 37-year-old from Dublin, who is still available for test and T20 cricket, won 153 international matches in 50-over format, scored over 3,000 runs and set a national record of 114 wickets in format with his brisk medium pace.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) rotation policy became a hot topic in world cricket when they failed to travel to India with their full squad earlier this year and lost Series 1-2 to get out of the WTC finals.
