A five week old boy has died after being mistreated by a family dog ​​on the NSW Central Coast.

Police, with the help of NSW Ambulance paramedics, CPR the baby but could not be resuscitated and died on the scene.

The boy’s parents were home at the time of the incident and the family dog ​​was secured, NSW police said on Sunday.

A crime scene has been set up, but there are no suspicious circumstances and a report for the coroner is drawn up.
