CM – Bangladesh vs Australia: Russell Domingo « disappoints » with visitors’ severe virus conditions – Firstcricket News, Firstpost

In a virtual press conference ahead of the first of five T20 games in Dhaka on Tuesday, Domingo asked why players need to be in a bio-safe zone at least 10 days before the series.

Bangladeshi coach Russell Domingo said Sunday he could « not understand » Australia’s strict COVID-19 protocols which forced wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim to miss the upcoming Twenty20 series in Dhaka.

« I can’t follow the strict rules Australia has put in place (It’s) very disappointing how they went about it, « said the South African.

 » But you see, we want to play against the best team in the world and it’s an opportunity for one or two younger players or Fringe players to play and I’m sure they can.

« No mushfiqur is certainly a loss to us, but we have a big squad and some good players to replace it. »

Mushfiqur returned from Ba on July 14th ngladesch’s tour of Zimbabwe but was then in contact with his parents, who tested positive for the virus, officials said.

Their positive results meant he was the July 20 cutoff date for participating in bio-bubbles They added.

Officials said last week they tried to cut the Mushfiqur deadline to eight days, but the Australian medical team disagreed.
