Jan Oblak says: « Luckily the ball went just far and I didn’t have to touch it. » he says of Messi’s late free kick. We know how dangerous he can be from free kicks, but these are moments in games. He can often decide the game when he wants.
Is that a bad result? We proved we came here to win the game. We played better in the first half than in the second and there is only one point more on the board. We still have three games to go and we have to keep fighting. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season. We want to win all three games and we’ll see where we end up.

Gerard Pique speaks: « We wanted it to be a little better. » he says in an interview with La Liga. We’re still in the hunt for the title. We had a good game overall, we did well. We had more chances than they did; also clearer opportunities. It shouldn’t be, but we now know the situation we are in and we can’t just rely on ourselves. But given the results we’ve seen this season, I think this is a title race that is wide open. We still have three games to go and we have to win on Tuesday. “????

Look! Look! Peeeeeeeeeep! The dead end at Camp Nou, where both sides had many chances to steal all three points, remains decidedly unbroken. While neither team will be particularly upset with this result, it probably suits Real Madrid best. A win for them against Sevilla tomorrow night will put them at the top of the table, but only if they head-to-head against Atletico.
5:08 p.m. BST 5:08 p.m.
90 3 min: Carrascos Inswinger is gone and it’s all over. An entertaining game ends goalless.
5:07 p.m. BST 5:07 p.m.
5:06 p.m. BST 5:06 p.m.
90 1 min: Atletico free kick that allows them to get the ball into the Barcelona box. Carrasco’s delivery to the edge of the area is poor and Barcelona is clear.
5:05 p.m. BST 5:05 p.m.
89 min: Messi – who else – takes the free kick, but sends it about a foot up and far from the top left corner. Oblak seemed to have covered it, but it wasn’t far.
5:04 p.m. BST 5:04 p.m.
88 min: Free kick for Barcelona about 25 meters from the Atletico goal, a little to the left of the center.
05:02 p.m. BST17: 02
86 min: Despite his best attempts, Griezmann is unable to reach a ruffled Dembele cross to the far post.
5:00 p.m. BST 5:00 p.m.
84 min: A delightful cross from Alba is hit by Dembele, who goes over the bar. It was a great chance to score, but the substitute wasted it. He really attacked that ball but couldn’t hold his powerful header.
4.59 a.m. BST 4:59 p.m.

4.58 a.m. BST 16: 58
81 min: Barcelona have confirmed that Sergio Busquets has been hospitalized for tests after being forced on the head with a bang in the first half. He went off after a head collision, got back in and immediately fell out injured and was replaced. We hope he’s fine.
4.56 a.m. BST16: 56
79th Minute: Barcelona win a free kick for a foul on Ousmane Dembele right in front of Atletico’s penalty area, not far from the corner flag. Messi’s retreat towards Dembele on the edge of the area is bad and is intercepted by Joao Felix.

4.49 p.m. BST 4.49 p.m.

4.45 p.m. BST 4.45 p.m.
69th Minute: Another foul on Messi, another free kick for Barcelona. It is played wide for Jordi Alba, who moves from the left to Araujo. He goes home from the edge of the six yard box but is immediately marked for offisde. Close, but no cigar for the Barcelona replacement.
4.44 p.m. BST 4.44 p.m.
68 min: Atletico Madrid Substitution: Joao Felix for Saul Niguez. The first-half substitute is lifted before being sent off. Atletico now play with two central midfielders instead of three. Joao Felix and Angel Correa play further up the field with Luis Suarez running a single striker.
4:42 p.m. BST 4:42 p.m.
65 min: Koke is booked for a sharp jerk on Messi’s arm as he tried to cut into Atletico’s penalty area. That’s three Atleti players booked for fouls on the Barcelona skipper in this competition. Messi takes the free kick from the left and goes straight for the goal. Oblak tucks the ball at the far post – I’m not sure the Messi shot went into the goal, but the Atletico goalkeeper didn’t take any chances.
4:39 p.m. BST 4:39 p.m.
63 min: Leo Messi floats a ball into Atletico’s penalty area, where an airborne Gerard Pique can only get the slightest touch with his forehead. He nods directly to Oblak with the ball.
4:37 p.m. BST 4:37 p.m.
62 min: A cross from Jordi Alba turns into the path of Ilaix, whose howitzer of a shot is deflected to a corner. Nothing comes from the set piece.

4.35 p.m. BST 4.35 p.m.
60 min: Saul Niguez, already on a yellow card, is punished for pushing Antoine Griezmann. He’s walking on thin ice, not least with this whistling referee.
4:34 p.m. BST 4:34 p.m.
4:33 p.m. BST 4:33 p.m.
57th Minute: Correa hovers the ball over the penalty area and looks for Luis Suarez, who turns directly at Marc-Andre ter Stegen and plays volleyball. The linesman is offside and triggers an angry reaction from Uruguay.
4.30 p.m. BST 4.30 p.m.

4:23 p.m. BST 4:23 p.m.
4:22 p.m. BST 4:22 p.m.
46th Minute: The second half begins similarly to the first, Messi is fouled by Felipe. Free kick to Barca, far right. The ball floated into the area of the penalty area, where Clement Lenglet stretches every tendon and heads over it. If he had left, Araujo would lurk behind him in a better position to steer the ball into the goal.
4:20 p.m. BST 4:20 p.m.
Minute 46: The game continues, with Ronaldo Araujo replacing Oscar Mingueza in Barcelona’s three opponents. Mingueza had a pretty hot time in the first half so it’s no big surprise to see him retired.
16.77 p.m. BST16: 07
Look! It’s goalless at break but both teams will head to their locker rooms to ruin missed opportunities. Leo Messi created and missed the selection, which was denied by an excellent save by Jan Oblak. But it was Atletico who dominated, with Yannick Carrasco, Felipe, Angel Correa and Marcos Llorente standing close together.
4:33 p.m. BST 4:03 p.m.

41 min: Oof! Leo Messi cuts in from the right sideline, the ball sticks to his feet. He rushes past one … two … three … four … five defenders before firing a shot from the edge of the box. His exertion whistles just inches past the post after Jan Oblak dived to his left to get a fingertip on it. Nothing comes out of the corner.
3:77 p.m. BST 3:57 p.m.
40 min: The deadlock remains unbroken in a game that could go in both directions. Barcelona dominate possession, but Atletico had a choice so far.
3:55 p.m. BST 3:55 p.m.
37th Minute: Ter Stegen is forced to act again and gets out at his near post to block a low Correa drive from the left. The ball bounces in the air and Ter Stegen quickly gets up to knock it off the head of the arriving Luis Suarez.
He ties Suarez’s head with his hand and the Urugayan goes down as if he had just been shot. He wants a penalty, but has to be content with a corner from which nothing comes.
3:15 p.m. BST 3:51 p.m.
Minute 34: Saul Niguez is booked for withdrawing Messi after the Barcelona skipper gave him the slip on the right wing.
