A few moments ago, tonight (December 2nd), the Mafia battle of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Verzuz Three 6 was abruptly interrupted for a while after an altercation between the two Midwest groups broke out. After about three rounds of music, Bizzy Bone turned to his opponents. The member, who kept dropping in and out, told Juicy J, DJ Paul, Gangsta Boo and Crunchy Black that he refused to be ridiculed for his performance. During the brief scolding, Juicy J told the Ohio MC to « hold the fuck. »
A charged Bizzy seemed to respond to the words by throwing a water bottle at Three 6. Juicy J stormed across the stage, appearing to be throwing at least one punch. In the process, he broke the yellow warning tape that was attached to a tombstone as part of Bone Thugs’ props. When the two crews collided, Bizzy was charged with « not taking his pills » and ruining the evening.
The online broadcast went black and the audio captured some arguments between the crews. After less than 10 minutes, the Verzuz fight is on stage without Bizzy Bone. The remaining Bone Thugs attendees seemed frustrated to discuss Bizzy’s estranged status with the group; with another one who reminds fans that they are still family. Three 6 relaunched with « Azz N’ T * tties « . DJ Paul pointed out that these two things are common interests of the crews. Bone Thugs replied with « Days Of Our Livez ». Then Layzie Bone and Juicy J took a moment together on stage as a gesture of peace. Bizzy later returned wearing a hat and sunglasses. “I want to apologize to everyone out there on both sides. I’m not trying to fuck this [Verzuz] shit. Forgive me, ”said the MC to the fan.
Like previous Verzuz competitors Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy, these two crews have had a history of tension. « It wasn’t real beef, » said DJ Paul in 2015 to Justin Hunte, then from HipHopDX. “It was more of a misunderstanding because we were rapping about Triple Six, Devil Shit, and twisting our tongues on slow beats. We’ve been doing this since 1989 and then all of a sudden when Bone came out – I think it was 1993 … We didn’t know the Faces Of Death album because it was their underground stuff. Just like they probably didn’t know our underground stuff. When they came out with “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” and all that stuff, we heard someone who kind of has our style: Faces Of Death, Redrum, Mord, 6-6-6, tongue twisters. We said, ‘Damn it, these guys stole our style!’ [Laughs] So we got mad about it. We met a couple of times and there was a nudge or something. But there was never a fight or anything like that. »
Like Bones on-off-again status at Bizzy, Three 6 Mafia endured internal problems through 2018. Maybe 2021 got things boiling. However, the two crews do their best to send a prevailing message.
