Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder has confirmed that Aaron Connolly has agreed terms and conditions with the club for a loan move from Brighton until the end of the season.
The Republican international Connolly has had the entire season only made one Premier League start and was heavily linked with a move to the master club ‘Boro.
The 21-year-old was dropped from Albion’s squad for the 2-0 St. Stephen’s Day win over Brentford and the subsequent 1-1 draw at Chelsea.
When asked whether a short-term move to the second level would be beneficial for all parties, Brighton boss Graham Potter replied: “I think it is. Aaron is at the stage where he needs to play football and if we can find the right fit it will work for him and for us.

Middlesbroughs’ scheduled game against Sheffield United was postponed yesterday after Wilder’s side recorded 20 positive cases over two days
The former Sheffield United manager tried to register the Galway native in time for the game but is only back in action for next Saturday’s FA Cup game against Mansfield.
