Four British restaurants, all of which are based in London, made it onto the longlist this year, with Tomos Parry’s Shoreditch restaurant Brat being the highest new addition in the country at 78th place.
Also Ikoyi von Jeremy Chan and Iré Hassan-Odukale first entered the list at number 87.
It comes after the famous St. James’s restaurant, which uses high-quality British products as well as spices from other countries, with a focus on sub-Saharan West Africa, of 50 Best. was named American Express One To Watch 2021 earlier this month.
Clare Smyth’s core moved up slightly to 64th place after being longlisted at 66th place in 2019. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal jumped to number 65 on the list after ranking number 83 in 2019.
The 50 best restaurants in the world, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, will be presented at their annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, October 5th, their new Top 50 list unveiled.
It will mark a return to physical events for The World’s 50 Best Group Post-Coronavirus as they fund their 50 Best for Recovery fundraising project This year’s list 51-100 includes restaurants from 22 countries on six continents and includes a total of 13 new entries from nine countries.
The highest new entry is Alchemist in Copenhagen, Denmark, which is ranked 58 is added to the list; while St. Hubertus in San Cassiano, Italy, has risen the most seats and has improved by 62 seats since 2019, when the list was expanded to 120 restaurants, to 54th place.
Among the other notable new additions to the This year’s longlist includes the Peruvian restaurants Kjolle and Mil, which are ranked 95 and 90 respectively and are both owned by Pía León, who was named the world’s best chef in 2021 last month by the 50 best, sponsored by Nude Glass.
