Britney Spears ‘close circle has grown so small under her Conservatory leadership that she has no way of keeping in touch with her best friend.
Felicia Culotta, who started as Spears’ assistant in the 1990s and eventually became her closest confidante, revealed in The New York Times Presents: Controlling Britney Spears that she no longer has the pop star’s phone number.
« I have no way of getting in touch with her right now. » All the numbers I have [for her] are changed now, « Culotta said in the documentary, which premiered on Hulu and FX on Friday.
When the filmmakers asked Culotta if she wanted to convey a message to Spears, she took the opportunity.
« First I would make you giggle. Second, I want you to remember all the funny things and all the funny times, ”she began, speaking directly to the superstar. « I want you to remember how strong you are, how talented you are, how silly you are, how silly you are and that your heart is huge. »
When tears came to her eyes, added Culotta added: “Hold on. Your voice is coming back. You are louder and prouder and more powerful than I’ve seen you in a long time. I love you and I will support you no matter what. ”
Spears, 39, has been under supervision since February 2008 and spoke out publicly against its restrictive character in court for the first time this summer.
Under the tutelage, the “Stronger” singer’s father, Jamie Spears, has been in control of her personal affairs and possessions for more than a decade – and gives him the final say on the color of her kitchen cabinets.Britney asked a Los Angeles judge in July to indict her estranged father of « Conservatory abuse » after alleging he forced her to perform and sent her to a mental health facility against her will.
After Following his daughter’s emotional pleas, Jamie, 69, petitioned earlier this month to end her conservatory career.
