There has been a lot of speculation that the Denver Broncos will trade for Aaron Rodgers at some point. Denver running back Melvin Gordon isn’t so sure about that.

During an appearance on the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football last week, Gordon tossed some cold water to Broncos fans hoping the franchise will hit a deal for the angry three-time MVP can.

« As for Aaron Rodgers, I honestly believe he will stay with Green Bay, » Gordon said of NFL.com. « … I think he’ll stay there, man. You can’t really see it in any other color. But who would resent having Aaron Rodgers? But we don’t have him, so we have to play with Teddy [Bridgewater], we have to play with Drew [Lock], so whoever our type is our type. ”

Lock, the Broncos’ second round draft pick 2019, and Bridgewater, acquired in an off-season deal, are currently competing for the starting job in Denver.

While Gordon doesn’t think the Broncos will take over Rodgers, teammate Kareem Jackson is optimistic they are acting for Deshaun Watson . Jackson, who played with Watson in Houston, recently said the three-time pro bowler wants to play bowler in Denver.

« I have a great relationship with Deshaun, » said Jackson. « I’ve been talking to him for the past few weeks, man, and all he’s been telling me is, ‘Look, Jack just tell them where I want to be.' »

While Gordon and Jackson have clear opinions , other Broncos players are less vocal about the quarterback situation. Wide receiver Tim Patrick downplayed it last week, and defensive end Dre’Mont Jones recently said he doesn’t care who snaps for his team.
