The Chicago Bulls have had two wins in a row in a time when they couldn’t accept anything less, and the last of those two came on the basis of a triple-double effort from Nikola Vucevic.
The Boston Celtics had no answer for Nikola Vucevic on Saturday. Head coach Brad Stevens tried Tacko Fall in the second half.
Chicago’s all-star Big Man finished the race with 18 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and a block. He is the first Bulls player to post a triple-double since Jimmy Butler did so in April 2017.

Like it at As is usual for a performance of this caliber, Vucevic has been everywhere and has done a little of everything.
And as has become the expectation for a player of his statute, the two-time all-star credited his teammates for speaking to reporters (via NBC Sports) after the game:
They were really aggressive when it came to doubling the post. They also switched a lot on pick and roll when I was rolling. They had a lot of different coverages and we were able to take advantage of that a little. And the guys did a good job getting into open spaces and putting down shots. The way I play, I always try to get the best legibility possible, whether I’m attacking and hitting or making the right pass. I’m very proud of that.
His IQ was full early on, and five of his ten assists came in the first quarter. For both Vucevic and the Bulls, things have gotten easier as they have more games together.
His growing chemistry with his new teammates is mainly due to what will go down as a career evening.
Man he’s so much help. He’s a very, very confident big man who can do anything. And our chemistry just keeps getting better.
Three of the great man’s assists went to LaVine, good for seven of his 25 points in the win. According to NBA.com’s Passes Tracking, Vucevic has only endorsed him seven times in the last eleven games.
We are very happy to be playing together and hope that this will bring us to the game. We were just talking about how we want to end the season strong and play well and do what we can. It was great. I think he and I are a good match. There were already signs that it shows how we can be efficient. And I think we’ll just keep growing as a duo.
Chicago is now 5-7 if both LaVine and Vucevic play this season. Last but not least, the remaining number of games gives the two stars the opportunity to further develop their relationship.
Because next season doesn’t allow the same indulgence on the track. Both All-Stars and the Chicago Bulls will be under pressure to return to the postseason for the first time since 2017.
That’s good for the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference and three games back from the 10th seed Indiana Pacers.

So the odds are good against the Chicago Bulls, who are 4-6 in their last 10.
