LUCKY: The President of the BJP, Apna Dal (Sonelal), Anupriya Patel, who is fighting for a separate ministry to solve the problems of other backward classes, is back in the Union’s Council of Ministers after a two-year break.

Patel, 40, an MP from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, is a member of the Kurmi community and was a minister in the first government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Her addition to Modi’s team is ahead of the elections Uttar Pradesh assembly next year and the Lok Sabha polls in 2024 are significant as the other backward classes (OBC) have a significant number of voters in the key Purvanchal region.

« We have the creation of a ministry for OBCs along the lines of the minority ministry are called for to solve the problems of the backward classes, « she said earlier this month at a meeting of party workers on the 72nd birthday of Apna Dal founder Sonelal Patel.

As an advocate of the backward and disadvantaged sections, she has said that while they get their share of the administration, the inequality gap is still huge. « We have to fight a lot to bridge it, » she says and calls for the erection of a national monument to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Delhi.

Her party has continuously raised its voice in parliament to solve the problems of farmers and to properly implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission so that they can get a fair price for their products.

The rumor that she could be housed in the Union Ministry grew louder when she recently hit the BJP stages in New Delhi after staying away from the corridors of power since the NDA’s second term began in 2019.

Anupriya was Minister of State at the center from 2016 to 2019. This is your second job in the Council of Ministers of the Union.
