The Cape Verdean Constitutional Court has ordered the extradition of a Venezuelan government representative accused of money laundering and corruption to the United States.
Alex Saab, a Colombian businessman, was arrested more than a year ago when his plane was in the West African country Refueling stopped.
He was on a Venezuelan government plane and was reportedly traveling to Iran on an important government mission.
President Nicolás Maduro said Mr Saab’s detention was illegal because he had a diplomatic passport owned.
This was denied by the court, which upheld a previous decision to extradite him to the United States.
