The preschooler station has been lauded for its inclusiveness, but it’s clear to see that it is George Webster’s star quality that got him on TV, not his condition.
The 20-year-old was before appeared in a short film for BBC Bitesize about misconceptions about people with genetic disease, and the bosses were so impressed they invited him to join their preschool channel.
Leeds-born George will join CBeebies as the CBeebies House guest host, moderating segments and links between programs.
George has a very varied résumé and is an actor, dancer and ambassador for Mencap for the disabled.

He was announced in a social media video on Monday in which he stated that he likes to cook and dance.
In the clip that showed him at home with his parents, interacting with other digital channel stars and demonstrating his culinary skills, expertly mixing a smoothie, he said, “I’m so proud and happy get me started. «
George also said, » When I was young I was told I could be anything. And look – here I am at CBeebies House, ready to cook and sing. That is me, I’m George, I can’t wait to be your friend. «
His appointment was received with much enthusiasm and praise for CBeebies, who embrace greater inclusion and diversity – but it was found to be George’s natural Energy is that makes it such a great addition to the channel.
One parent tweeted, « Given that the mentally disabled (which I am) are not offered as many (if any) opportunities in the industry to this is great to see, not because he ticks a box uzt, but because he’s a natural moderator and if he drops that he’ll do very well. »
