On Tuesday afternoon, the Minneapolis Police Officer Chauvin found guilty of the murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020. Read by Judge Peter A. Cahill, the jury found Chauvin guilty on all three counts, including second and third degree murder and second degree manslaughter.
The prosecution headed by Steve Schleicher and defense attorney Eric J. Nelson did made her final arguments on April 19 and completed 14 days of testimony from doctors, police officers, bystanders and members of the Minneapolis PD. Judge Cahill oversaw the trial at the Hennepin County Government Center in Minneapolis.
