With Black Friday just around the corner, retailers in the area are hoping to see red this holiday shopping season.

Heather Crowell, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Communications at PREIT, the owner of Capital City Mall in Lower Allen Township, said both sales and the number of people shopping at the mall in recent months were higher than in the same months in 2019, the last full year before the COVID -19 pandemic. « We are very optimistic about the holidays this year, » she said. “The numbers we’re forecasting for national sales are honestly incredible – the forecast of sales growth between seven and 10 percent is incredible, and we’re seeing it. We have very high hopes for the Christmas season. ”

Christmas shopping hours: The mall is not extending its opening hours so late this year due to staff shortages.

Seasonal tenants: Mall officials said that not only is the mall 100% rented, but everyone is rented as well Kiosks are full, many with seasonal tenants. There’s also a pop-up holiday market.

New tenants in Fall 2021: Banter by Piercing Pagoda has opened a second kiosk, and Windsor, Cinnabon, Rue21, Aerie, Macy’s Backstage and Joseph Jacob Jewelers have all opened in the mall.

Other holiday information: Santa will be available for photos until December 24th. Reservations are recommended but not required. Reservations can be made on the mall’s website.

Animal photos are available Monday through December 20, 11am to 8pm. (Christmas Break: 3:00 p.m.)

Visitors should bring all pets through the main entrance (near DSW) along Hartzdale Drive. All pets must be kept on a leash, in a pet carrier, or by the owner at all times. Owners must sign a release before visiting Santa Claus. Reservations can be made on the mall’s website.

Black Friday: 7am to 9pm except for Bass Pro, which is open from 5am to 9pm.

Hours of Operation on Holidays: Typically 10am to 8pm. Monday till Thursday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and the times differ on Sunday. For further information please click here.

Holiday Shopping Hours: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 9:00 am – 9:00 pm Friday and Saturday

New tenants 2021: Leggings New York, Sage’s Creations, Willow & Wildfire, Board & Brush, The Arch Threading & Spa and Go! Calendar. These tenants replaced Wilson’s Leather, Bass, Van Heusen, Haggar and American Girl. The mall finds it is 100% busy.

This event kicks off in front of a brand new 24 foot Christmas tree and features Christmas carols, a Christmas letter writing station, a hot cocoa and biscuit bar, visits with some of your favorite characters and more. Guests can create a custom ornament at Board & Brush. Guests are encouraged to bring a donation of clothing or groceries to support Cocoa Packs and the fight against child hunger.

Black Friday Hours of Operation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday, but check individual store opening times , as these may vary due to staff shortages.

Opening times on public holidays: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

New tenants 2021: Crate & Barrel Outlet, Bon Worth and Puff ‘n Stuff. (The Eagles Pro Shop has moved to a new location in the shopping center.)

New tenants for 2022: The shopping center has new branches in January and May. More information will be released at a later date.

Merry Makers Market from 10am to 3pm December 4th. The event includes Santa Claus, 60 local artists, food trucks, photo booths and live music. A special treat for the first 100 guests with a chance for gift certificates.

4th Annual Rocky the Elf Return – Rocky will be hiding in various locations in downtown and Lancaster County for the Christmas season. Follow social media for a daily guess where he is to win gift cards.

Park City Center Mall will reopen on June 26, 2020 after the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

Black Friday opening times: The shopping center is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on black friday. JCPenney and Kohl’s open at 5 a.m. Boscov’s open at 6 a.m. Several small stores will also open earlier than 9 a.m.

Round 1, JD Sports, Urban Outfitters, Ardene, Reeds Jewelers, Presto Fast Pasta, Austin 5 and Custom World. Sbarro and Stir Fry 88 will open in the food court in December.

The mall has partnered with Toys for Tots to collect new toys for families and children in need.

United Disability Services is returning with the UDS Holiday Gift Wrap Stand Back. The UDS Gift Wrap booth is celebrating its 50th birthday in the Park City Center.

The center is hosting multiple vendor markets in the former Bon Ton room throughout the season, giving local creative entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their talent to the community. In a creative way, Lancaster is hosting its Holiday Makers Markets on November 27th and December 4th, 11th and 18th.

Santa has returned to the mall. Families can visit Santa Claus to share their vacation wishlist and snap photos. Children have the option to sit on Santa’s lap, or if families prefer, socially detached seating is available. The mall strongly recommends guests make reservations on their website for a contactless experience.

Pet Night has returned to the mall every Monday from November 29th to December 20th this Christmas season as well. Reservations are not required but are recommended. Guests can make reservations at

Santa Claus – 11 am-2pm Dec 4th and 2pm to 4pm Dec 5th Parents can take their personal cameras and / or cell phones to capture a special moment with Santa in the Tanger Lounge while they enjoy hot chocolate, freshly baked cookies and Christmas cupcakes.

Opening times on public holidays: The shopping center is usually open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 12 noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. It’s not clear if the mall is extending its opening hours for Christmas shopping.

Seasonal Renters: Cupboard Maker Books will stay open through January 31 and has 10,000-15,000 new and used books. Go! Calendar is also open in the mall.

Santa Claus takes a break from 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Santa Claus: From November 26th Santa Claus is in the mall from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Animal photos take place from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Free « Holiday Carriage Rides in the Land of Lights »! Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Nov. 26 – Dec. 18. Collection and return at the food court.

Santa Claus arrives at the food court at 5 p.m. November 26th. The first 100 children who visit Santa Claus receive a gift bag. He’ll be there until 9 p.m. Santa Claus is also on site from 12 noon to 6 pm. Nov 27, Dec 4, Dec 11 and Dec 18 and from 12 noon to 5 pm November 28, December 5, December 12 and December 19
