CM – Chinese GP deal extended to 2025, although the calendar is missing again

Formula 1 has reached an agreement to extend the contract for the Chinese Grand Prix until 2025, although it is still missing from the calendar.

China was the first race to be held in early 2020 due to the looming COVID 19 pandemic was postponed and was also unable to return to the calendar this season as F1 managed to put together a more recognizable schedule. Even if the race for 2022 was not included, F1 has been working with the promoter on his future plans and after a three-year absence, another three-year races are to take place in Shanghai from 2023 to 25.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali says that Agreement shows how strong the partnership is in China, even after the multiple cancellations in recent years.

« This is great news for all of our fans in China and we are happy to announce this agreement to us can compete in Shanghai until 2025, ”said Domenicali. « Our partnership with the organizer Juss Sports is incredibly strong and we look forward to the continuation of our long-term partnership.

» Although we are all disappointed that we could not include China in the 2022 calendar due to the ongoing pandemic conditions, China will back on the calendar as soon as conditions allow and we look forward to being back with the fans as soon as possible. ”
