CM – Cotter names 23 crew for All Blacks tests

Youngster Simione Kuruvoli has been called up to the 23-man squad for the Flying Fijians’ first friendly against the All Blacks on Saturday in Dunedin.

The 22-year-old replaces the experienced halfback Frank Lomani, who together with Mosese Sorovi and Teti Tela cannot travel to Christchurch.

Kuruvoli will stand next to Ben Volavola, Kini Murimiruvalu, Captain Levani Botia and Waisea Nayacalevu, while strong and strong runners Nemani Nadolo and Eroni Sau stand on the wings.

Cotter has also created an experienced field of strikers with Peni Ravai, Sam Matavesi, Temo Mayanavanua and Mesake Doge, while the seasoned hands of Leone Nakarawa are in the second row and Albert Tuisue in the back row.

Cotter says that Kuruvoli has big footsteps to fill and he will need a good striker to protect him.

Another new player who has also made it is Peni Narisia, who plays for Brive.

Flying Fijians meet on Saturday at 7pm at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin for the All Blacks.
