A man has been arrested in Melbourne for allegedly pointing a fake weapon at a university security officer.
Police were taken to the Swinburne University campus in Croydon in the eastern suburbs of Swinburne University just before 10.30am on Tuesday Melbourne called.
Witnesses say that up to 10 police cars, marked and unmarked, rushed to the scene.
The special police, along with uniformed officers, reacted quickly and cordoned off the area and arrested the man shortly afterwards .
Nobody was injured and the police are not looking for anyone in connection with the incident.
The police later posted on the Facebook page of Eyewatch – Maroondah Service Area that the alleged weapon was found was a counterfeit firearm.
