0

Darwin was released from lockdown after no new locally acquired COVID-19 cases were detected in the Northern Territory for the third year in a row.

Thursday’s development allows NT authorities to freeze Greater Darwin to lift noon as planned.

However, as a precautionary measure, the lockdown in Katherine will remain in place until at least Friday noon.

The area has avoided transmission related to an infected man in his thirties last week via Canberra Darwin traveled after spending 14 days in a quarantine hotel in Sydney before driving 300 km to Katherine.
