Produced by Kyle Evans and Luke Grieve, the new single marks Dave’s third solo release of the year after « Titanium » and « Mercury, » while this is Stormzy’s third track appearance in 2021. « Clash » serves as the lead single from Dave’s third studio album We’re All Alone In This Together, which was announced earlier this week.

We’re All Alone In This Together follows the Mercury Prize-winning one Album psychodrama by the 23-year-old artist. « I know the album in my head that I’m making … This is the most complicated and complex story of a child who has just come from all this tension and perceived success in public and an acting career, and this love for film, this lead character syndrome, immersion in his home and his family. And not just in terms of texts and content; It’s in the production, in the sound, in the features, in the style and in the use of these things as a journey, a character development between love interests, the way we talk about the world, « he told GQ, adding: » There’s something magical about it! I feel like my first album was a concept, but this is canon. That’s how I would put it. In this album it refers to itself; it is confident. My life in real life: what I do, my career, musically, acting, my ambition – it’s self-confident. When you hear who I am on track 12 and who I was on track one, this trip, it feels like a journey of years, like, ‘Yo, this person was here, this happened, this happened, I’ll meet that person, the slang I use, the arrogance, the voice … ‘It’s canon.  »

In other music news, MF DOOM will finally have a street in Long Beach, New York named after him.
