Mayor Bill de Blasio awkwardly indulged in a shake shack burger and fries for breakfast during his press conference on Thursday – when he announced that the fast food business was getting New Yorkers receiving the COVID-19 vaccine , gives free food.
« I want you to look at these fries and think about how good it is to get vaccinated, » Hizzoner said after putting some crinkle-cut spuds in the Mouth.
« Is it too early in the day to have a burger? » He asked a press officer before taking a big, strong bite and gushed: « Mmmm … vaccination. »
De Blasio, who, unlike when he ate pizza with cutlery, used his hands to eat , Shake Shack’s new offer to give away free fries to customers who show their vaccination card anywhere for the next month.
People who take photos at Big Apple-operated mobile clinics will also receive a voucher for a free burger or a free sandwich, said Randy Garuitti, CEO of Shake Shack.
« Get your Vax, get your shack, » Garuitti said during the press conference, adding that the deal will be available at each of the company’s 25 locations Restaurants is good. « [It’s] free for us to say thanks. »

Citing low COVID-19 infection rates, he also said the Global Citizen and Governor’s Ball music festivals, both of which were canceled last year due to the coronavirus crisis, « will be back ».
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter King Princess, who will be performing at the final festival, performed live at the press conference.
« Please get vaccinated and come and see me at the Governor’s Ball, » urged the indie -Pop Darling New Yorkers.
When asked what he’d like to remove from his bucket list before his term as mayor ends this year, De Blasio channeled his inner rock star.
« Maybe I have to join one of the Governor’s Ball bands and debut my musical styles, « he said.
