FERRY services operating from Bacolod City to Iloilo City and Dumangas are affected due to the recent escalation from Iloilo City and Iloilo Province into the Extended Community Quarantine (ECQ). Frank Carbon, operator of Weesam Express, said due to the small number of passengers, journeys between Bacolod City and Iloilo City are currently limited to only one round trip per day.

Carbon also confirmed that one of three Fastcraft companies operating the said route has also decided to temporarily suspend its services. For those planning to travel to Iloilo, Carbon said there are no travel requirements. However, in order for passengers to avoid standing while on their ship, Carbon advised travelers to eat, drink and use the bathroom before boarding. In this way, passengers remain seated throughout the journey and avoid removing their face masks and face shields. Carbon also confirmed that the ferry staff, cashiers and porters have already been vaccinated against Covid-19. The quarantine status in the province of Iloilo and its heavily urbanized city was raised to the most restrictive Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from Friday last week.
