CM – « Elderly man with walking aid » commits heartless action on the day of remembrance

A heartless thief took advantage of the generosity of the Melburnians and stole several donation cans before Memorial Day.

It is believed that the same perpetrator went to a podiatrist’s office, bank, and newsagent on different days and took the cans.

The suspect is an elderly man with a walker who infuriates those who raise money because selling poppies fund the welfare of the veterans.

« We had a younger veteran, the Has problems so we paid his utility bills, « said Bill Dobson of the Lilydale RSL.

Chris Newell of the local RSL described the act as a » big kick in the gut « .

The shrine has confirmed that there will be no more fence after that rate caused controversy on Anzac Day.
