CM – Emergency measures when people « escape » from the NT quarantine facility

A police operation is currently ongoing at the Howard Springs facility.

A police operation is underway at the Howard Springs Center for National Resilience in the Northern Territory after several people escape quarantine.

According to police, fire and rescue services of the Northern Territory, three people are supposed to put a fence in the quarantine facility and fled the area on Wednesday morning.

« Police and staff from the Center for National Resilience are currently confirming the identity of the refugees before further information is released, » said PFES.

The NT authorities confirmed this week that a returned traveler who is quarantined at the facility tested positive for the new Omicron variant of the virus.

Just last week, a 27-year-old man escaped from the facility and found himself in a white Ute picked up.
