CM – England footballer brings a piece of Kiwi legacy to the Euro field

With England’s left-back Ben Chilwell, a little piece of New Zealand will be on the pitch at the upcoming European Championship.

The 24-year-old Chelsea defender was born in England, but his father is Kiwi, who was three in 1993 emigrated to Great Britain before Ben was born.

But Chilwell carries a piece of his heritage with him in the form of a tattoo that proudly shows the country of New Zealand on his forearm.

The Champions League winner was eligible to play for the All Whites before making his international debut for England in 2018.

Since then he has played 14 games for the Three Lions and is likely to push for a place on Gareth Southgate’s side at the European Championship.

England will find the opening game against Croatia in the early hours of Monday morning, while the opening game of the tournament takes place tomorrow morning between Italy and Turkey.
