Patrick Bamford’s late equalizer saved Leeds a point in the 1-1 Burnley draw so both teams could chase their first Premier League win of the season.

Chris Wood put Burnley in the lead against his ex-club in the second half, but Bamford celebrated his call-up in England with his first goal of the season five minutes from time.

Sean Dyche’s team struggled and struggled to the first point of the new campaign and threatened to overpower Leeds, which showed an impressive determination to strike back.

Josh Brownhill and Ashley Barnes both booked from referee Michael Oliver, who later became Kalvin Phillips and Ben, after a brisk half-hour that was no chance Mee took it in his notebook before the break.

Burnley had started to make steam when Johann Gudmundsson made the first shot on goal, which rolled past the goal in the 31st minute.

Leeds reacted and opened three minutes later. Bamford and Rodrigo combined to prepare Raphinha, but his shot missed the far post.

Wood headed from one corner, and on the other end, Bamford’s touch left him as he raced over the top on Phillips’ excellent ball. </ The Leeds striker then headed the ball from another Burnley corner against the base of his own post when the game started but went goalless at halftime.

Burnley – who signed Maxwell Cornet from Lyon earlier in the day had – continued to disturb the rhythm of Leeds. Pressing, hectic and physically overwhelming the visitors and they were enjoying their best time after the restart.

Brownhill shot far from outside the box after a decent build-up and McNeil’s shot got closer.

The Clarets deservedly took the lead in the 61st minute. James Tarkowski’s phenomenal header from a corner was turned to the crossbar by Illan Meslier, but Leeds couldn’t remove the threat.

Matt Lowton had time to take a low shot and Wood got the slightest touch to get the ball for to divert his first goal of the season past Meslier.

Marcelo Bielsa sent Jamie Shackleton for Llorente and Tyler Roberts replaced Rodrigo 15 minutes from time as Leeds equalized.

Dyche, who previously had another former Leeds player, Aaron Lennon, who had sent, withdrew Barnes for Matej Vydra.

Pascal Struijk was the fifth player to be booked for his lunge challenge against Wood when Leeds struggled to break Burnley’s defense.

But a moment of magic from Raphinha equalized Leeds. He dodged two markers on the right edge of the box and when the ball broke to Shackleton his shot was shot home by Bamford.
