The FIFA President met with two Presidents of the Member Associations (MA) to discuss how FIFA can continue to support football development in their respective countries and regions.
At the meeting in Qatar, where the final of the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 ™ ️ between Tunisia and Algeria will take place on Saturday, President Infantino had productive talks with Révérien Ndikuriyo and Gilles Tavergeux – the presidents of the Burundian Football Association and the New Caledonian Football Association respectively.
At the meeting, discussions revolved around the challenges and solutions to ensure the continued commitment, funding and support of the global football community to support development in each of their countries as well as neighboring CAF and OFC member associations.
As part of FIFA’s unwavering commitment to ensuring equal access to development opportunities for all administrations, maximizing the organization’s impact in support of global development at broad levels is enshrined in the President’s Vision 2020-23 and one of its eleven goals to make football truly global close .
FIFA’s Forward Development Program plays a vital role in making this commitment a reality. It was set up as a tailored support for football development in each of the 211 Managing Authorities and the six confederations and is based on three principles – more investment, more impact and more oversight.
