Four people were killed in a plane crash off the Queensland coast, two from Brisbane and two from Canberra.
The plane crashed into the water in Scarborough, a coastal suburb of Redcliffe northwest of Brisbane, after it had left the Redcliffe Aerodome.
7NEWS believes the aircraft had an engine failure shortly after takeoff and turned while attempting to return to the runway.
« The aircraft is in the wetland in a very , very difficult position and we currently have police officers and divers traveling to this area, « Queensland Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll said earlier.
» I can’t confirm the number of passengers and of course I don’t want to and find something else, so we just can’t confirm that at this point. «
