Emotions went high in a Sydney court after prominent neurosurgeon Charlie Teo’s daughter was withdrawn on serious driving charges on the day she was due to be tried.

Nicola Annabel Teo, 26, pleaded guilty not to have caused dangerous driving with serious physical injuries in a frontal accident in 2019 in which Mr Ross was seriously injured.
Ms. Teo was flanked Tuesday in the Downing Center District Court by her mother and sisters, who heard the district attorney’s director ruled that no further trials would take place.
There were gasps and tears in the court as a judge Warwick Hunt formally dismissed the case.
« Ms. Teo, that means there is nothing holding you now and you are free to get on with your life, » said Judge Hunt.
Outside the court, women marched Teo and her followers passed a crowd of waiting news cameras without comment.
Her attorney Darren Emery said the result was a « fair decision ». and wished Mr. Ross a speedy recovery.
Mr. Ross was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle down Settlers Rd, Lower Macdonald when Ms. Teo’s Toyota LandCruiser collided with him when her car allegedly rolled over on the wrong side of the road. < He sustained severe leg and internal injuries and was flown to Westmead Hospital following the incident on September 25, 2019.
After the court on Tuesday, Mr Ross’s distressed daughter, Holly Gitany, said the family was concerned about the manner in which the charges were suddenly dropped.
Ms. Gitany said Mr. Ross, now in his late 70s, was forced to quit his job with the rural fire department due to his injuries.

The trial was scheduled for Monday but was postponed for a day after the court heard that prosecutors were waiting for a psychiatric report for Ms. Teo.
The court heard, that the main problem in the predicted week-long process would be “automatism” or acting without conscious decision.
Ms. Teo had also been charged with gross negligence, negligence, failure to observe a dividing line and failure to provide information to the police.
In a brief statement, the attorney general’s officer refused to respond to the decision to close the case.
“This matter was withdrawn by the district court this morning. The Office has no further comment, â ???? said the statement.
