CM – Hamilton fears persistent COVID effects after battling on the podium

Lewis Hamilton believes the effects of COVID-19 will continue after he needed medical attention after being dizzy on the podium of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The defending champion who finished a race at the end of last season Missed with COVD, appeared weak on the podium and suspicious of those around him due to a strategic mistake. Hamilton was late for the post-race press conference after Mercedes confirmed that he had been to the team doctor after being tired and slightly dizzy. « I was getting really dizzy and everything was a bit blurry on the podium, » said Hamilton, who had recovered. « I’ve really struggled with health all year, you know, staying healthy after what happened late last year, and it’s still … it’s a struggle.

» I haven’t been with anyone special talked about it, but I think it will last. I remember the effects when I had it and the training has been different since then and the levels of fatigue you get are different and it’s a real challenge like I said. Just keep exercising and preparing as well as you can.

« Today, like yesterday, I think maybe it’s the hydration. I don’t know, but I definitely haven’t had that experience. I had something similar at Silverstone, but this is much worse. «

Hamilton finished third and was later promoted to second for slick tires after Sebastian Vettel was disqualified.

» Today was definitely tough and we are doing it it is always difficult for us. It’s crazy to think that we were the only ones in the field at the start, but things like that happen and we learn from them. I gave it my all and in the end I was left with nothing.

“I told the team about the track during the lap, but they said it was going to rain when we got in the car and I thought they were would have other information. I’ve seen everyone submerged, but still …

« I know we can box. Of course we all started at the Inters and I tried to give the team information only during the introductory lap. It was dry in all corners and so I kept telling them: dry, dry, dry and they said they should stay outside. I don’t really get it, but I’m sure it’s great … definitely a mistake from all of us, but we win and lose as a team and we carry the burden of mistakes together and just keep fighting.

« That Team did a great job with the strategy, with the pit stops and I just had to get it out there, so it was a flat chat the whole race and very, very tough with the tire temperatures and I still enjoyed that. ”
