The Highlanders got closer to securing a Super Rugby Trans-Tasman finish after beating the Brumbies 33-12 in Canberra last night.
The Dunedin men got the bonus point they got needed when they beat the Brumbies five to two, with All-Black veteran Aaron Smith scoring two goals and delivering some assists in a superb performance.
That should be enough to lead the Highlanders to the finals, despite wins could still cause the Blues and Crusaders to fail tonight depending on the profit margin.
In the meantime, the Rebels will receive the Crusaders this afternoon at 4:35 a.m., the Blues will play against the Westerns at 7:05 a.m. tonight Force and the Chiefs will face the Waratahs at 9:45 a.m. tonight.
