Apple has released a critical software patch to fix a vulnerability that researchers say could allow hackers to directly infect iPhones.

Apple has released a critical software patch to fix a vulnerability that researchers say could allow hackers to directly infect iPhones and other Apple devices without the owner’s involvement.

Tap « Install Now ». If it says “Download and Install” instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap “Install Now.” First, make sure your Apple Watch is up to date Software compatible: watchOS 7 is compatible with Apple Watch Series 3 and higher and Apple Watch SE. An iPhone 6s or higher with iOS 14 or higher is required to upgrade to watchOS 7.

It can take a few minutes to an hour for the update to complete. You might want to update overnight or wait until you have time.

Your Apple Watch will notify you when a new update is available. On the notification, tap Update Tonight, then go to your iPhone to confirm that you want to update overnight. Let your Apple Watch and iPhone charge overnight at the end of the day so that the update can be completed.

If your Apple Watch has watchOS 6 or higher, you can install the following updates without your iPhone:

– Wait for your Apple TV to download the update. Don’t disconnect or unplug your Apple TV until the update is complete.

After the update is downloaded, your Apple TV will restart, prepare for the update, and then install it. When the update is complete, your Apple TV will automatically restart.

– Wait for your Apple TV to download the update. Do not disconnect or unplug your Apple TV until the update is complete.

– « Update Now » installs the latest updates for the currently installed version. For example, learn more about macOS Big Sur updates.

– « Upgrade Now » installs a new major version with a new name, such as macOS Big Sur.
