A new contestant to be seen at the season premiere of the super popular « The Voice » is from the area.
Westchester-based David Vogel of Valhalla will be on Monday, September 20th Have a chance to impress the judges when he takes the stage.
According to Vogel’s Instagram page, he started writing songs at the age of 13 or 14 and loves playing his acoustic guitar. He describes himself as “a staring-eyed lover”.
He said songwriting and performing was something he always wanted to do, but it wasn’t easy and still doesn’t.
« I’ve written a lot of songs over the years, some really bad and some good here and there, » Vogel said on Instagram.
Currently part of the band Jadan, which is based in New York, Vogel says they have one have new EP « A Futile Attempt ».
But his bandmates won’t be with him when he takes the stage on « The Voice ».
« I think experiencing real things like love and loss , Joy and sadness and all the things in between helped me write from a true place of understanding, and even the lack of it. Then I could take paper and a pen and pour my guts out into a song, and it sounds good too ! From a place of authenticity, « he wrote on Instagram.
