CM – Hydralyte product recalled because of “unacceptable” risk of pregnancy


The tablets used to treat symptoms of dehydration are being recalled due to the « presence of Carthamus tinctorius (safflower) as an inactive ingredient. »

« The exposure of Carthamus tinctorius in this product presents an unacceptable risk if used in pregnancy, « said the TGA.

 » In addition, due to the inclusion of Carthamus tinctorius as an inactive ingredient, the product does not contain the mandatory ‘Do not use if pregnant or likely to be pregnant’ warnings. p> The TGA advises people to stop using the tablets if they are pregnant or if pregnancy is possible.
