IBM will integrate Envizi’s applications, used by companies to meet their sustainability goals by analyzing and monitoring energy use and emissions, into its own asset and supply chain management and environmental impact applications.

IBM has acquired Envizi, a developer of data management and analysis software for assessing environmental performance.

The acquisition will enable IBM to expand its portfolio of software tools that help companies and organizations ensure the environmental sustainability of their operations and Monitor and manage your supply chains.

Envizi develops a number of applications that companies and organizations use to analyze and monitor their energy consumption and emissions, how they affect their environmental goals, and to identify opportunities for efficiency. The software automates the collection, consolidation, analysis and reporting of more than 500 types of data and supports the leading frameworks for sustainability reporting.

The company’s applications, which run in multi-cloud environments, include emissions management, ESG reporting ( Environmental, Social and Governance) and performance, energy management and building operation optimization.

For example, an ESG reporting application analyzes building environmental assessments and benchmarks, while an ESG performance application provides value chain reporting capabilities to assess the environmental impact of upstream and downstream supply chains Enterprise analysis.

The Envizi energy management application line includes software for analyzing utility bills and managing renewable assets, while the building optimization software line includes HVAC fault detection and energy efficiency program tracking applications, among others tet.

IBM already commercializes several AI-based software-as-a-service applications for asset and supply chain management, including the IBM Maximo Asset Management application and IBM Sterling supply chain software for environmental and sustainability. And the IBM Environmental Intelligence Suite helps companies assess and plan the impact of environmental conditions on their operations.

IBM has announced that it will integrate Envizi software with these applications. IBM added that it will also use the Envizi applications internally to improve its own operational efficiencies towards the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
