Sri Lanka said they were undecided whether to play against Afghanistan because of the Taliban's reported sports ban on women.

Sri Lanka provided a 15-person squad for next month’s Twenty20 World Cup but said they were undecided whether to play against Afghanistan because of the Taliban’s reported sports ban on women.

Sri Lanka Cricket kept Dasun Shanaka as captain with Dhananjaya de Silva as his deputy for the T20 World Cup, which takes place from October 17th to November 14th in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

« We have now completed the roster but we have yet to make a decision on Afghanistan, « Sri Lankan cricket board secretary Mohan de Silva told AFP.
