MELBOURNE: Former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist has said that if Cricket Australia (CA) wants to change Justin Langer’s head coach, they should do so sooner rather than later.
Langer stands under close scrutiny after Australia lost the T20I series to the West Indies and Bangladesh earlier this year. The team also lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home to India.
« Justin is very aware of these perceived issues with his management style and he will continue to try to work with them and I am sure the players will try too to work with it. But the bigger problem will derail. » the summer when it is not cleared is the fact that these journalists are in direct contact with the people in the sanctuary, and the people in this sanctuary are happy to let it out, « Gilchrist told SEN Radio on Monday, as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
« So Cricket Australia needs to try to address this very quickly. If everyone thinks it’s best to leave Justin Langer as a coach, then do it sooner rather than later because it will only create a side issue that « will continue to be a circus, » he added > On Sunday, Cricket Australia paved the way for its players to take part in the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the UAE in September and October.
The clearance by CA came after the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB ) announced the postponement of an ODI series with three games between the two nations, which was originally supposed to be played before the T20 World Cup in India, reported cricket.com.au.
