Since Jared Goff joined the NFL in 2016, he’s been grappling with high expectations. For the first time in his professional career, however, the former No. 1 pick is not expected to lead his team to a Super Bowl.
Goff was traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Detroit Lions earlier this year. It was an abrupt end to his career with the Rams, which was unfortunate considering how well he played in 2017 and 2018.

« I’ve obviously matured, » said Goff. « I learned a lot. I saw the game from a new perspective and I appreciate it more than ever. … It gives me the opportunity to be that veteran and be the leader for a lot of these young people and move into this part of my career. ”
Last season, Goff had 3,952 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He has to be much better this fall if he is to lead Lions to success.
